There are many days that I am at work and when I go to my break I start to think about all the things that are happening right now. I have been called to be a Music Minister and at the same time God is teaching me new traits about things that I will be using to further my ministry. Right now at my church I am a Sunday School teacher and I am so confused. I am one, not a teacher but I know that this is something that God is using for my benefit and two, everything that I know about teaching from in class situations and watching the teachers I am trying to use those techniques to learn what my personal technique is. I am spending lots of my time studying and preparing for the Bible Study lessons and the students are not putting in the time to study there lessons to that it’s not a one sided conversation but instead we all learn from each other. What can I say to impress upon these students how important it is to do the lessons prior to class??
I know how you feel. But, you must encourage your students, and remember that you are a student as well. Always encourage and build up, never downgrade or insult.
Do you spend more time studying the lesson or in prayer? You have to have a daily prayer and devotion life to teach. Satan does not want you to teach God’s word, it’s his job to confuse you and try to take away your confidence. That is why you must pray, pray, pray, then study and seek God’s face as he speaks through you to the class.
Teaching is a gift and God will equip those he calls. Always listen for him and you’ll find your own “style”
God bless you.
